IGNORANCE

Man has been a subject to ignorance for eons

And his ignorance is more often driven by his vanity.

Everyone tries to be superior to the other

And this desire is the root cause of all disdain.

Our material pursuits

Make it overwhelmingly difficult

To realise the true essence of life.

We fail to contemplate upon our actions

And end up in our foolish pretensions

Of worldly possessions.

This world of illusions

And wretched deceptions,

Compel our innocent souls

To enter upon several delusions

And get entangled in this web

Of desire and consequential vicious cycle.

We tend to ignore the very voice

Of our beneficent conscience.

Silence follows the benignant beckoning.

The silence denotes the very presence

Of an ignorant self and self-proclaimed notions

About one’s thoughts, ideas, and emotions.

The husky fiend shrouds the truth

And enters upon as a friend

To play gimmickry with our ignorant self.

But your inner soul doesn’t leave you

It still resides within you.

It just waits for the right occasions

To ring the bell and warn you.

But the evil spright is a better friend now

And you keep ignoring the harsh beckoning.

But someday or the other,

You will unravel the truth.

But it’ll be too late for you

To dispense with

The services of ignorance.

So, awake my friend

And awake thy soul,

To see the truth and embrace it.

IN THIS AGE OF INTERNET

The advent of technology Has completely changed our mentality In this age of internet.   People obscure themselves with a smiling face And such folks can be found in every corner and every place In this age of internet.   People pretend to be What they aren’t actually In this age of internet.   Deception is present in every corner Evil is served with a sweet flavour In this age of internet.   We have the ever-virtuous men and women Who never make a mistake now and then In this age of internet.   People object you if you aspire to make a difference And will diatribe you till you lose your vigour and confidence In this age of internet.   People don’t have time to spend with you Because they have to update their stories too In this age of internet.   People don’t bother to help you when you’re in danger Rather they ignore you when you ask for a favour In this age of internet.   It’s just...

GLANCE

This fine gush of wind soothes my soul. The sight of the setting sun refreshes my body as a whole. The flight of birds reminds me of my flying aspirations. The swerving trees make several revelations About life and it’s swinging nature; Sometimes being cruel and other times having a benevolent demeanour. The shrouded sky resembles my doubts and suspicion Regarding my dreams and ambition. The sweet beckoning sound of the birds That keeps on emanating from their herds Seems to me as if life’s giving some indication About the prevailing conditions and makes an estimation Regarding the future and the prospects of the future That are cloaked by the narcissism that we nurtured; It’s time we unite and say together, “Even though we failed to wonder How far we have walked alone Let’s make mankind one and sing in a single tone The song of kindness and generosity And let’s be compassionate and not just feel pity At others’ sorrows and grief Let’s do somet...
